Adam Sandler: five seasons (1991-1995)
Adam Sandler, 56, joined the cast in 1991 and created many memorable characters, including Opera Man, Canteen Boy, and Cajun Man. He also performed the instant holiday hit “The Hanukkah Song.” He was fired from the show in 1995, however, along with many of his co-stars.
“We some kind of soon after he was fired, Adam Sandler told The Daily Beast in 2014.
“It was very difficult at the time,” he added, “because we were young and didn’t know where we were going, but it all worked out.”
While still in the show, he starred in the famous movie “Billy Madison.” After leaving, Sandler starred in other popular movies, including “Happy Gilmore,” “Waterboy,” “The Wedding Singer,” “Big Daddy,” “Little Nicky,” “Mr. Deeds.” ,” “Eight Crazy Nights,” and “click.”
Recently, he signed two contracts with Netflix to produce and star in eight films for the streaming service. One of those movies, “Murder Mystery,” had 30.9 million viewers in three days, breaking streaming records, according to Variety.
He also returned to “SNL” for the first time in 2019 to host, and was later nominated for an Emmy. Sandler was considered one of the biggest contenders for the 2020 Oscars, as he was not even nominated for his role in the Safdie Brothers film, “Gems Uncut.”
Sandler has several projects lined up for the future, including the “Murder Mystery” sequel, the sci-fi film “Spaceman,” and an untitled Safdie Brothers film.
