In an interview with The Curb, Sen described the experience of winning both awards as a whirlwind, saying that “We’re all over the edge with happiness. I’m so tired of answering the question, ‘How do you feel?”” It’s not a happy feeling. Simple. There is a fair level of positive stress, as they say, because you are constantly dealing with 999 notifications on social media. That’s it. So no complaints, of course it’s wonderful. But try to feel more than that. to simply be ‘Great, I’m over the moon.’ I think it’s a bit more than that.”
Here is the official synopsis of the film:
In one of the world’s most populous cities, cows, rats, monkeys, frogs, and pigs rub shoulders with people. Here, two brothers fell in love with a bird – a black kite. From their makeshift bird hospital on their tiny roof, the “human brothers” care for the thousands of creatures that fall every day from New Delhi’s smog-choked skies. As environmental pollution and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between this Muslim family and the abandoned one makes for a poetic tale of the city’s ruined environment and growing social tensions.
