The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting Season 2 Renewal Status

As previously noted, the anime adaptation has not yet been publicly confirmed for the renewal of season 2. However there are plenty of indicators that the anime will return for another round.

The first point is that the anime has plenty of source material left from the original manga series to adapt it for renewal, which is often a decisive factor in modern anime renewals.

As of now, episode 12 of the anime has covered up until volume 4 chapter 39 of Tsukiya’s manga series.

However as of September 2022, the manga has completed 8 Tankobon volumes which have been published in Japan.

Which means if the anime makers did think of renewal they can do it easily as enough source material for at least one more season is potentially available.

Also the anime proved to be quite popular enough to merit another season. Ahead of season 1 finale, the anime has scored a solid rating of 7.5/10 on IMDB, 77% on Anilist, 4/5 on Anime Planet and 7.77/10 on MyAnimeList.

A report of AnimeGeek also suggests that anime can get renewed as the report of the outlet reads, “Manga sales are only an indicator of an anime series’ popularity in Japan, whereas global streaming revenue is the major factor.”

However, if the anime is indeed renewed for season 2, fans can expect it to return in July 2023 or potentially in October 2023 on the Summer Slate.
